Remove OneDrive Icon from File Explorer

removeonedriveWhether you use Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage or not, Windows 10 will come with all sorts of handy shortcuts to it.  One of the more annoying ones, is no matter what, there will be a OneDrive icon in File Explorer with no easy way to remove it.  However there is a way if you don’t want to use it, or see it.

  • Press Win+R and type regedit to open the Registry Editor
  • Go to the following registry key, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}
  • Double-click on System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree change its value from 1 to 0

That’s it!  Just restart your computer, and the next time you open File Explorer, the OneDrive icon should be removed
